Sitting at the counter at the Wellsboro Diner again - waiting for my fried Haddock dinner
Waitress said, "some doozy of a storm last night, huh? My lawn furniture was all over the yard..." - I agreed.
I walked into Pinecreek Outfitters at 10:36am - Chuck was quite busy on the phone - lots of people canceling because of the pending tropical storm - saw a group of women loading up their mountain bikes and heading for the bike trail.
When I came out of the woods this morning, the difference between the thick forest and the valley pastures was stunning - as I approached Route 6 I saw a group of motor cycles pass - they must've turned around because they then came down the road I was on - they were heading to the park - each one saluted me militarily - it was a nice greeting after being solo for 48 hours - I replied with a wave .
Today's Daily Word referenced Healing and making idle complaints about aches and pains -after all that time last night prone in that tent this couldn't be more appropriate - the walk out of the woods made the soreness disappear.
The waitress with the short spiky hair asked how she knew me - I told her I had just been in on Sunday...
Good meal - love the home made cole slaw - time to hit the road to Harrisburg - I might stop in Williamsport or for a beer at The Riviera near Duncannon - heading out of Wellsboro it'll be cool to see the disappearing house - gotta call my folks and get Spotty dog - gonna make it to Nathan's soccer practice.
That beer's gonna taste great...
I hope these musings transpose to something readable - I listen to WXPN too much and it was kinda cool to have songs playing in my head during the trek - I hope if you're reading this you've enjoyed the hike.
Peace,
Perry
