Text Box: Hessle Gesser is a stone field high on a hill high above Asaph. Asaph is very near Ansonia the location of The Northern Terminus of the West Rim Trail. About 10 miles outside of Wellsboro, it’s a beautiful place. If you have Chuck Dillon’s “Short Hike’s in Pennsylvania’s Grand Canyon”, Hessle Gesser is the midpoint of  Hike #16 Scotch Pine/Hessle Gesser. It was intended to do that hike, but got somewhat off track and ended up just hiking the Right Asaph Road to the millstone site and back again. Because it was Memorial Day Weekend the Asaph Picnic Area was full of people and finding a place to park much less the trail head was rather difficult. Right Asaph Road is an easy trek with a slightly steep grade. Beware of the miss-marked  distance signs they make you think your destination is much farther than it really is.
Here are some photos from that short hike on that beautifully sunny day. Enjoy, Perry.
